I.Development Priorities

Currently, Xiamen's new energy industry is concentrated In lithium-ion battery manufacturing. Enterprises that have settled in Xiamen include CATL Xiamen, CALB, and Hithium. In 2023, an output of 79.4 billion yuan was achieved. The operation of CATL Xiamen New Energy Technology, CALB, and Ampace, all leaders in the field of domestic power batteries, will further advance the high-quality development of Xiamen's new energy industry. CATL and Xiamen University have inked a contract to jointly establish the CATL Xiamen New Energy Research Institute, which leverages CATL 21C Innovation Lab and Tan Kah Kee Innovation Lab to collaborate on organizing and planning technology industry projects in key areas such as smart energy, energy storage, high-power devices, and next-generation power batteries. Relying on the world-class facilities of Tan Kah Kee Innovation Lab, an advanced technology service platform will be built, and a school-enterprise joint talent training program will be launched to enhance the core competitiveness for the development of Xiamen’s 100-billion-yuan new energy industrial clusters.
