Xiamen’s mechanical equipment industry covers automobiles, electrical equipment, aircraft maintenance, and general and special equipment manufacturing. In 2023, the output value totaled RMB 236.558 billion. King Long Motor leads the nation in the market share and technological standard of large and medium-sized passenger vehicles. ABB and Schneider, two global giants of electrical equipment, are at the forefront of the production capacity and market share of high-, medium- and low-voltage power transmission and distribution equipment in China. KEHUA has maintained its No.1 market share among China’s UPS brands for many consecutive years. Xiamen Taikoo’s large commercial aircraft repair is among the top providers in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of scale and technical level. Xiamen has become China’s largest aircraft maintenance base. And XSI’s automobile roll-on/roll-off ships, developed with proprietary technology, is known as the “Xiamen type” in the international shipping market. Representative enterprises include: King Long Motor, ABB, Schneider, KEHUA, Taikoo, STARCO, XSI, Linde Forklift Trucks, etc. 

II.Development Priorities 

1.Manufacturing of new-energy complete passenger vehicles, and supply of related software and hardware. 

2.Intelligent power transmission and distribution equipment, complete systems and key components and modules, and research institutes of electrical equipment standards and tests. 

3.Commercial aircraft cabin remodeling, engine overhaul, landing gear maintenance, engine disassembly parts remanufacturing, aircraft auxiliary manufacturing, aircraft equipment, system and application industrialization. 

4.Environmental protection machinery and other new types of engineering machinery, intelligent electric control systems, wet-type brake drive axles, and other key components. 

5.Automotive lithium-ion power battery and cathode materials, diaphragm, aluminum-plastic film, dispersant, binder, and other supporting industries.
