Xiamen Professional Art Troupe won 16 national, provincial and municipal honors in total, known as Excellent Drama in the 16th Five One Project for Spiritual Civilization Construction and being listed in the 2022 National Art Fund Projects. The city had deliver 

513 cultural performances to more than 80,000 people in places like communities, villages, scenic spots, theaters, schools, military camps. Through innovation and improvement, seven plays came out, among which Nanyin (southern pipes literally) titled Wenji Guihan was listed in the 2022 National Art Funded Projects for Large-scale Stage Drama, the episode of which was nominated for Program Award of the 12th China Quyi Peony Award (Quyi, a Chinese term refers to folk vocal art forms), In addition, five out of the seven plays were selected as Backbone Plays of 2022 Fujian Stage Art Quality Projects. Xiamen No. 6 High School Choir selected by the local authority won the National Chorus Team Stars Award, owing to the excellent performance of “My Motherland and Me” and “Colorful Koi”.

Xiamen had 250 immovable cultural relics listed by cultural relics protection units (303 sites in total), among which seven were national protection ones (50 sites), 54 were provincial protection ones (61 sites), 95 were municipal protection ones (98 sites) and 110 were Taiwan-related ones.110 representative projects of intangible cultural heritage were listed as municipal and above ones, of which two (Nanyin and Wangchuan Ceremony) had been listed as UNESCO Intangible Heritages of Humanity, 15 as national-level ones, 47 as provincial-level ones and 48 as municipal-level ones. The total number of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage at municipal level or above amounted to 175, including 12 national-level ones, 65 provincial-level ones and 98 municipal-level ones.

There were seven public culture centers, ten public libraries as well as 12 museums and memorial halls registered by Fujian Cultural Relics Bureau. In the year 2022, a total of six types of newspaper, 26 kinds of periodicals and 14 kinds of overseas Chinese publication were released. Altogether there were seven sets of broadcasting programs and seven sets of TV programs. The region had seen 66 cinemas with 354 screens altogether generating 163 million yuan at the box office throughout the whole year. 

Healthcare Services

By the end of 2022, there were totally 2,389 health institutions at all levels and in all kinds, including 68 hospitals, 29 community health service centers, 10 health centers, 538 outpatient departments, seven maternal and child health-care institutions, seven disease prevention and control centers, one specialized prevention and control institution and one sanatorium. The total number of professional health and technical workers amounted to 42,796 in Xiamen, including 17,561 practicing doctors, 1,110 assistant practicing doctors and 18,769 registered nurses. 22,747 beds were available in the health-care institutions, 21,410 ones were for general hospitals, 140 ones for sanatoriums, 395 ones for community health service centers and health centers, and 792 ones for public health agencies. 

Sports

Xiamen delegation from the Youth Sports School Branch scored 4,415 to achieve a marvelous breakthrough at the 17th Fujian Provincial Sports Games, ranking second in the gold medal count and first in the total score list with 139 gold, 130 silver and 146 bronze medals. The city had witnessed numerous national sports competition held here, including but not limited to the 2022 “Dragon and Tiger Leap” Cross-Straits Dragon Boat Race and Cross-Straits Dragon Boat Model Competition, the 2022 National bodybuilding and Fitness Championship, the 2022 National Triathlon Championship and the 2022 National Youth Championship, the 2022 National Final of the Gladiator & Street Dance Super League, China Track and Field Street Tour in Xiamen, and the 2022 National Badminton Tournament and Championship. The first Xiamen Sports Fashion Exhibition kicked off here and Haicang Half Marathon, Xiamen Marathon and National Marathon Championship, Tour East Coastal Half Marathon and Sports Consumption Life Festival had been successfully held. Yu Linmin won women's vault gold at the 2022 National Gymnastics Championship.
