Economy volume  
At the preliminary estimate, the gross domestic product (GDP) for the year reached 780.27 billion yuan,a year-on-year rise of 4.4 percent at comparable prices. Specifically, the added value of the primary industry was 2.93 billion yuan, up by 1.4 percent; that of the secondary industry was 323.36 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8 percent; and that of the tertiary industry was 453.98 billion yuan, up by 4.7 percent. The proportion of three industries was 0.4:41.4:58.2. For every 10 thousand yuan of GDP, the electricity consumption was 430.35 kWh, and water consumption was 6.08 tons, showing a reduction of 36.03 kWh and 0.6 tons compared to the previous year, respectively.
Fiscal Revenue & Expenditure
Xiamen’s public budgetary revenue reached RMB 149.38 billion with a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent, among which the local fiscal revenue had increased 6.6 percent to 88.38 billion yuan. The tax collected in the local fiscal revenue grew 1.7 percent to 63.14 billion yuan, of which the VAT was 19.53 billion yuan, up by 12.5 percent; the corporate income tax was 12.64 billion yuan,up by 3.0 percent; the personal income tax was 6.23 billion yuan, down by 33.1 percent; and the land appreciation tax was 8.45 billion yuan, up by 4.4 percent.
The fiscal expenditure for the year 2022 was 108.87 billion yuan, up by 2.7 percent over the previous year. Of this total, expenditure on education was 19.58 billion yuan, up by 9.3 percent; that on science and technology was 5.93 million yuan, up by 17.3 percent; that on urban and rural community affairs service was 11.97 billion yuan, down by 10.2 percent; that on social security and employment was 9,732 million yuan, up by 31 percent; and that on health care and family planning was 11.49 billion yuan, up by 18.0 percent.
Price
In 2022, the consumer price index (CPI) for all residents grew by 1.8 percent (see Table 1), among which the prices went up by 2.1 percent in food and 1.7 percent in non-food items, the prices in services rose by 1.2 percent and consumer goods rose by 2.2 percent.

Districts Economy
An analysis by regions showed that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Siming District reached 250.39 billion yuan, up by 5.2 percent over the previous year; that of Huli District rose to 168.19 billion yuan, up by 3.3 percent; that of Haicang District reached 106.75 billion yuan, up by 4.7 percent; that of Jimei District increased to 95.66 billion yuan, up by 3.0 percent; that of Tong’an District went up to 70.56 billion yuan, a growth of 3.7 percent; and that of Xiang’an District arrived at 88.71 billion yuan, up by 6 percent year on year.
The total added value of the above-scale industrial enterprises in Siming District, Huli District, Haicang District, Tong’an District and Xiang’an District rose by 8.1%, 3.5%, 6.2%, 0.6% and 9.0% respectively, while that in Jimei District declined by 2.4 percent. 
For the whole year, the total retail sales of consumer goods from Siming District was 102.84 billion yuan, that from Huli District was 52.75 billion yuan, that from Haicang District was 32.379 billion yuan, that from Jimei District was 22.77 billion yuan, that from Tong’an District was 42.31 billion yuan, and that from Xiang’an District was 13.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%, 0.2%, 7.6%, 1.2% and 7.2% and 3.8% respectively.  
The investment in fixed assets of Siming District reached 27.68 billion yuan, an increase of 13 percent; that of Huli District reached 51.67 billion yuan, an increase of 1.8%; that of Haicang District reached 47.54 billion yuan, an increase of 11.8 percent; that of Jimei District reached 36.39 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.9 percent; that of Tong’an District reached 47.32 billion yuan, an increase of 35.8 percent; and that of Xiang’an District reached 86.51 billion yuan, an increase of 12.2 percent.
Meanwhile, the city’s district-level public budgetary revenue (excluding the municipal level) expanded by 9.7 percent compared with last year, amounting to 27.59 billion yuan. Of this total, the public budgetary revenue in Siming District was 7,391 million yuan, up by 7.1 percent; that in Huli district arrived at 5,592 million yuan, up by 15.5 percent; that in Haicang District was 3,96 million yuan, up by 7.3 percent; that in Jimei District was 4,607 million yuan, up by 1.6 percent; that in Tong’an District was 3,240 million yuan, up by 12.5 percent; and that in Xiang’an District rose to 2,796 million yuan, up by 20.1 percent.
