Over the past year, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in Xiamen reached 266.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent. Among which the retail sales of commodity was 238.67 billion yuan, up by 3.2 percent, and that of the catering services was 27.87 billion yuan, up by 2.9 percent.  

With a growth rate of 6.7 percent, the retail sales of enterprises above the designated amount reached 171.68 billion yuan, accounting for 64.4 percent of that of the city’s social consumer goods; while the retail sales of enterprises below the designated amounted shrunk by 2.6 percent year-on-year to 94.85 billion yuan. 232 wholesale and retail enterprises with annual retail sales of above 100 million yuan had achieved retail sales worth of 139.96 billion yuan in total, with a net increase of 13.474 billion yuan or 10.7 percent increase from the previous year. 189 lodging and catering enterprises had the retail sales revenue exceed 10 million yuan each, achieving 12.29 billion yuan of retail sales in total, a net increase of 2,124 million yuan and up by 20.9 percent year on year.

Among the wholesale and retail enterprises above the designated amount, the retail sales of motor vehicles was 40.39 billion yuan ,up by 4 percent from a year earlier; that of clothing, shoes, hats and needle textiles was 45.72 billion yuan, up by 5.1 percent; that of grain, oil, food, alcohol, tobacco and beverage was 22.179 billion yuan, up by 13.8 percent; that of petroleum and related products was 9.53 billion yuan, up by 22.3 percent; that of telecommunication equipment was 3.88 billion yuan, down by 8.9percent percent; that of daily necessities was 12.84 billion yuan, up by 21.4 percent; that of stationery was 4.88 billion yuan, up by 4.4 percent; that of gold, silver and jewelry was 2,675 million yuan, down by 25.5 percent; and that of cosmetics was 2,648 million yuan, rising by 3.9 percent.
